Voltaren 75 mg/ 3 ml 5 Amp As Analgesic

Voltaren contains diclofenac sodium.
Diclofenac sodium, the active ingredient in Voltaren injection, is one of a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Voltaren is used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic.

Indications:

Voltaren is used in the following cases:

• Arthritis cases: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gout.

• Migraine attacks.

• Acute musculoskeletal disorders and trauma such as periarthritis (particularly frozen shoulder), tendinitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, sprains, strains and dislocations. Pain relief in fractures.

• Control of pain and inflammation in orthopedic, dental and other minor surgeries.

• Pyrophosphate arthropathy and related disorders.



Points of interest:

• Do not take aspirin for pain relief while using Voltaren ampoules.

• Do not take Voltaren if you are dehydrated due to severe vomiting or diarrhoea.

• Stop Voltaren and tell your doctor right away if you develop swollen ankles, trouble breathing, chest pain, black stools, or dark vomit.



Side effects of Voltaren ampoules:

• Headache.

• Nausea.

• Vomiting.

• Epigastric pain.

• Gastrointestinal bleeding.

• Diarrhoea.

• Dizziness.

• Disorientation.

• Excitation.

• Coma.

• Drowsiness.

• Tinnitus.

• Fainting or convulsions.



Cautions:

• Asthma.

• Active gastro-intestinal bleeding/ ulceration.

• Use in the setting of CABG surgery.

• Moderate to severe renal disease.

• Severe hepatic impairment; active hepatic disease.

• Elderly.



Interactions of Voltaren ampoules:

• Anticoagulants: avoid concomitant use with diclofenac. Increased risk of hemorrhage.
