Xyzal contain levocetirizine dihydrochloride.
Levocetirizine is an antihistamine that reduces the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body. Histamine can produce symptoms such as a runny nose or hives.
Levocetirizine is used to treat symptoms of year-round (perennial) allergies in children who are at least 6 months old.
Levocetirizine is also used to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives) in adults and children who are at least 6 months old.

Indications:

• Xyzal tablets helps to relief of symptoms of perennial and seasonal allergic rhinitis.

• Xyzal is used for chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Points of interest:

• Xyzal may make you feel sleepy, do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.



Side effects of Xyzal:

• drowsiness

• Fatigue

• Headache

• Nausea

• dry mouth



Cautions:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the active substances.

• Severe renal impairment

• Hemodialysis

• Precaution is recommended with concurrent intake of alcohol.

• Although drowsiness is rare, nevertheless patients should be advised

that It can occur and affect the performance of skilled tasks.



Interactions of Xyzal:

• Alcohol

• Antimuscarinics

• Ritonavir

• Anxiolytics and hypnotics

• Antidepressants: MAOIs or tricyclics.
