Beauty Essentials Set

Summer outdoors makes dark spots and uneven tone easier to see, and term start is when a routine can finally stick: the same wash in the evening, the same lotion after showering, the same sunscreen before going out. These five pieces run one alpha-arbutin brightening routine around a retinol night step. This routine is for adults 18 and over, and it must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What is in the box

• Cosmo White Clarifying Facial Gel Wash 150 ml — an Italian-made wash that lathers off dirt and excess oil while its alpha-arbutin, with yarrow (Achillea millefolium) leaf extract and heather (Calluna vulgaris) extract, works on the look of dark spots and uneven tone.
• Cosmo White Body Lotion 200 ml — alpha-arbutin for the body, in a base the brand describes as enriched with plant oils and natural extracts. It hydrates and softens while working on uneven tone and the look of marks.
• Etat Pur Pure Actives Retinol 0.3%, 15 ml — an anhydrous oil concentrate, not a watery serum: retinol 0.3% in a three-oil base of Limnanthes alba seed, apricot kernel and soybean oil, with tocopherol. It targets the signs of ageing - the look of fine lines, wrinkles and loss of firmness.
• Perlamar Caviar Cosmetics Sun Guard Sun Cream SPF 50+, 75 ml — a German sun cream applied to the face and exposed skin before sun exposure, to cut the UV that reaches the skin.
• Payot Rituel Douceur Roll-On Douceur 24h Anti-Perspirant, 75 ml — alcohol-free and intended for sensitive skin, it reduces underarm sweating and odour for 24 hours on aluminium chlorohydrate, with bisabolol to limit irritation.

How to use it

• Morning and evening, cleanse — the gel wash on a wet face, massaged to a lather and rinsed with lukewarm water. The brand sets no fixed number of washes a day.
• Morning, protect — Perlamar Sun Guard SPF 50+ last, on the face and exposed skin, and reapplied through the day.
• Daily, body — the body lotion on clean skin, massaged in until absorbed.
• Daily, underarms — the Payot roll-on morning and/or evening after washing, on the underarms only.
• Evening, treat — Etat Pur Retinol 0.3% after the same gel wash. Etat Pur directs evening use.

Good to know

Alpha-arbutin is the thread that ties the two Cosmo White pieces together, and each works on the look of marks and uneven tone. The retinol works on fine lines and skin firmness over time, with no promise of a timeframe. The Payot piece is the anti-perspirant version of the Rituel Douceur line, so it is not for anyone avoiding aluminium salts.

Please note

Adults 18 and over only, and not for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Retinol 0.3% is for evening use only, and a daily sunscreen is required while using it. Avoid the eye area and the lip mucosa, and do not layer it with AHA or BHA products. Keep out of reach of children. No sunscreen blocks all UV, so do not stay long in strong sun even while using it, reapply regularly, and keep babies and small children out of direct sun. The Payot roll-on is for underarms only, not on irritated or freshly shaved skin, and should be stopped if irritation occurs. The gel wash and body lotion are for external use only.
