What is in the box

• Bioxcin Sun Care Kids SPF 50+ Very High Protection Sun Lotion, 200 ml — very high SPF 50+ cover against UVA and UVB, built on a non-nano hybrid UV filter system centred on zinc oxide. It carries other UV filters alongside the zinc, so it is a hybrid and not a pure mineral sunscreen. It resists water and sand, moisturises the skin it protects, and the pack front reads tear free, perfume free and hypoallergenic, for children's sensitive skin.
• 1839 UMF 8+ Manuka Honey for Kids, 500 g, 17.64 oz — raw New Zealand manuka honey, UMF 8+ certified, a grading equivalent to MGO 182+. It is 100% manuka honey with nothing added, packed for children.
• Orzax Ocean Smart Gummies Multivitamin, 64 chewable gels — gelatin free chewable gels carrying nine vitamins, A, C, D3, E, B3, B5, B6, B12 and folic acid, with zinc, manganese and iodine and with inositol, to top up everyday vitamin and mineral intake.

How to use it

• Before school, the sun lotion — apply generously on every day of sun exposure, before going out, and reapply after swimming, after towel drying and after sweating.
• At the table, the honey — daily, by the teaspoon, or stirred into food and drinks in place of sugar. The brand states no fixed serving size.
• Through the day, the gummies — daily, two gels a day for ages 4 to 10 and four gels a day from age 11 and for adults. The stated daily dose must not be exceeded.
• Two of the three share the same slot — the honey and the gummies are both taken by mouth and both are sweet, but they are not alternatives to each other. One is a food used instead of sugar, the other is a supplement that tops up vitamins and minerals.

Good to know

The lotion is made for children and sets no minimum age. The honey and the gummies do have age floors, and they are not the same: the gummies set the box's floor at 4 years, and the honey is from 12 months. None of the three is a medicine, and the honey in particular is a food: it is not a remedy and should not be treated as one, whatever the grading on the jar.

Please note

Apply the sun lotion generously and reapply after swimming, towelling or sweating. No sunscreen protects completely: keep children out of the midday sun and keep them covered. Avoid the eyes and rinse if it gets in them. Never give honey to an infant under 12 months, because of the risk of infant botulism. Honey is a food, not a medicine, and it is high in natural sugars. Orzax Ocean Smart Gummies is a food supplement and is not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. Do not exceed the stated daily dose. It is not for children under 4 years. It contains vitamin A as retinyl acetate, so pregnant women and anyone taking medication should seek medical advice before use.
