Tolperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that acts at the reticular formation in the brain stem by blocking sodium and calcium channels.

Side effects:

• Weakness.

• Headache.



Cautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis.



Interactions:

• benzodiazepines: increases the efficacy of the Tolperisone.



Indications:

• Central post-stroke spasticity

• Muscle pain due to multiple sclerosis
