Advil tablets contain Ibuprofen As an active ingredient.
Ibuprofen is derived from a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory propionic acid that inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins by inhibiting Cox 1 and Cox 2 enzymes, thus reducing inflammation, associated pain, and fever.

Point of interest:

• Do not exceed 6 tablet of Advil in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor.

• Not recommended to use Advil Tablets for under 12 years of old.

• Ibuprofen may cause a severe allergic reaction, especially in people who have Allergy to aspirin.

• To reduce stomach upset, take this tablet with food.



Side effects of Advil:

• Nausea.

• Diarrhea.

• Ulceration.



Cautions:

• GIT disorders and chronic inflammatory intestinal disease.

• Caution is required prior starting the treatment in patients with hypertension or heart failure.

• Renal and hepatic dysfunction.

• Elderly at increased risk of serious consequences of adverse reactions, especially GIT bleeding.

• Bronchospasm may be precipitated in patients suffering from asthma.

• Contraindicated in patients with asthma.

• Contraindicated in patients with peptic ulcer.



Interactions:

• Methotrexate: the excretion of methotrexate is reduced by ibuprofen.

• Baclofen: the excretion of baclofen is reduced by ibuprofen

• Voriconazole or fluconazole: plasma concentrations of ibuprofen increased by voriconazole.

• Aspirin: ibuprofen reduces the antiplatelet effect of aspirin.



Indications:

It is Recommended to take Advil in these cases:

• Pain and inflammation.

• Fever.

• Postoperative analgesia.

• Dental pain.

• Migraine.

• Osteoarthritis.

Take 1 capsule of Advil Liquigel every 4 hours or 2 capsules every 6-8 hours.
