Diclofast contains diclofenac potassium, which works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes 1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2), leading to a reduction in prostaglandin formation. This imparts antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties.
This medication is used to relieve pain in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, acute gout, and migraine attacks, as well as dental and minor surgical procedures.
It can also be used for acute musculoskeletal disorders and shocks such as tendonitis, tendon sheath inflammation, sprains, and fractures, as well as in cases of joint injury with pyrophosphate and associated disorders.

Cautions:

• Patients with cardiovascular diseases should be given the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration.

• Avoid giving to patients with a history of gastrointestinal (GI) diseases.

• Bronchospasm may occur in patients with bronchial asthma or allergic disease.

•Contraindicated in patients with moderate to severe renal disease and severe hepatic impairment.



Side effects:

• Dyspepsia.

• GI ulceration or bleeding.

• Raised liver enzymes.

• Diarrhea.



Interactions:

• Anticoagulants

• Cyclosporine

• Methotrexate

• Tacrolimus:
