Tegretol CR tablets contain Carbamazepine.
Carbamazepine is an anticonvulsant.
Tegretol CR tablets works by decreasing nerve impulses that cause seizures and pain, so it is used to prevent and control seizures.

Points of interest:

• Tegretol CR may take up to 4 weeks before your symptoms improve.

• Do not stop using Tegretol tablets suddenly, even if you feel fine. Stopping suddenly may cause increased seizures.



Side effects of Tegretol CR tablets:

• Dizziness, loss of coordination, problems with walking.

• Nausea, vomiting;.

• Drowsiness.



Cautions:

• You should not take Tegretol CR if you have a history of bone marrow suppression.



Interactions of Tegretol CR:

• Do not use Tegretol if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur.
